Sponsored by the Lancaster Public Education Foundation

Across the country, communities are establishing foundations to help support their public school districts.  Our charitable foundation is an Ohio not-for-profit corporation and is independent from the school board.  The Lancaster Public Education Foundation strives with continuous effort to establish and maintain an endowment to  help provide extra educational programs and opportunities for the students of Lancaster City Schools that are not possible under the existing budgets.

Our Mission...

The mission of the Lancaster Public Education Foundation is to foster private sector support for initiatives that improve learning opportunities and academic achievement, enhance the leadership and educational capabilities of administrators, teachers, and staff, and advance improvements in the classrooms, schools, and related facilities of the Lancaster City Schools in Lancaster, Ohio.

Our History...

On June 26, 2007, the Lancaster Public Education Foundation was incorporated to pursue this mission as an Ohio nonprofit organization. Charitable status was secured by arranging to operate as a fund through the Fairfield County Foundation. The Directors quietly approached several potential donors who generously agreed to support this cause as a Founding Donor. The recognition of Founding Donor was earned by a business that pledges $10,000 or greater, and by individuals or families pledging $5,000 or greater. By October 31, 2007, over $40,000 of pledges had been received from area businesses, organizations and individuals.

Our Founding Donors...

Fairfield National Bank

Fraternal Order of Eagles (Aerie 2120)

The Lancaster Kiwanis

Virginia Pickering

Craig & Amy Vandervoort

Additionally, the Lancaster Public Education Foundation acknowledges charitable gifts from...

Jim and Judy Edwards, Attorneys-at-Law

Norman and Judy Ogilvie (on behalf of Joe, Sarah & Jeff Ogilvie)

Taylor Team of Dealerships

Throughout the school year, the Board of Directors will be inviting individuals, families, groups and business in the Lancaster community to pledge their support activities that will enhance the education of all children. Those pledging at the $5,000/$10,000 will be recognized with those already identified as founding donors. Charitable gifts of any size will be accepted.
