I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI but have lived in Lancaster for 40 years.  I have a BS degree in Journalism from University of Wisconsin and an MA from The Ohio State University.  I worked for 18 years in personnel management at Anchor Hocking and for 20 years as a financial advisor for Advest, Inc.  Retired since 2005, but now serving as Lancaster City Council President.


My wife, Suzanne, was a teacher in the LancasterCity School District for 25 years (North Elementary and Ewing Jr. High).  We are the parents of five boys who attended the Lancaster schools K-12 and are all successful in their fields today.

Chairman of the Fairfield County Access Management Advisory Committee, serves as the Chairman of the Fairfield County Law Library Trustees. President (2003-2004)of the Fairfield County Bar Association.  Chairman (1997-1998) of the American Red Cross of Fairfield County.

Adam Schneider

Adam Schneider was born in Lancaster, Ohio, the son Mike and Sandy Schneider, both natives of Lancaster.  He is a member of Faith Memorial Church in Lancaster. Adam graduated with honors from Lancaster High School in 2009. He went on to campaign for a seat on the Lancaster Board of Education.

Adam is majoring in Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in Psychology at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

The Lancaster Public Education Foundation is an independent,  non-profit, 501 ( c ) 3 community-based organization dedicated to providing continuous support and grant funds to the Lancaster (Ohio) City Schools staff, students, and parents. Its Board of Directors are members of the community who collectively share a passion for providing a high quality public educational experience for our children and our community. Many of the board members are graduates of the Lancaster City Schools or have close ties with the school district.

Our primary goal is to to enhance educational opportunities in a broad manner, limited only by our imagination and our community's ability to provide for its children. We are affiliated with the Fairfield County Foundation and issue grants four times each year.

I spent over 35 years in the Information Technology field.  I’ve taught at the secondary and post-secondary levels.  I hold B.A. and MSed degrees from Northern Illinois University.  My wife, Marsha, is a retired elementary classroom and reading teacher.  She taught at South, North and Tarhe elementary schools.  Our son, Tim, was a Latin teacher at LHS and now teaches Latin in Nashville, TN.  Our daughter, Amy, is a genetics professor at Grand Valley State University.

Bob is a retired educator, having served most of his career in the Lancaster City School District, primarily in administration.  Bob has always been active in the community in various leadership positions as President of Kiwanis, President and Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, President and Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, and board member of the Family Y.

Bob received the Heroes Award from the Red Cross in 2008 for his long community service.

Lara Culver, Board Secretary, is a lifelong resident of Lancaster and brings the parent's perspective to the Board as the mother of two girls, Hannah and Rachael, both of whom attend Chief Tarhe Elementary.  Lara is active as a school volunteer in addition to involvement in community information meetings.  She currently serves on a district school uniforms advisory committee.
